What is not covered under Loss of Personal Belongings Cover?
- Any incident that arises from the insured’s negligence
- If the car was borrowed from someone else
- Loss of data stored in electric equipment
- Any loss caused by the negligence of the policyholder
- If the items are not generally carried around by the insured
- Theft of any documents
- If the incident is not reported to the police within 24 hours of discovery
- If the items belonged to someone other than the insured
- If the stolen items are not mentioned in the police report

- If the belongings were left overnight in the car.
Claim Process of Loss of Personal Belongings:
1. File an FIR with the police: As soon as you get to know of the theft, you should file an FIR with the local police. In no case should you delay the filing of FIR by more than 24 hours, as your car insurance add-on claim may be rejected otherwise.
